For those of you wanting to use the K2 theme for your WordPress 2.5 installation you may want to be advised of a few current issues with the theme.

Problem:  K2 (< 1.0-RC5) Enabling Sidebar Modules/K2 Sidebar Manager breaks Dashboard.

Fix: Either disable Sidebar Modules/K2 Sidebar Manager in K2 Options or upgrade to 1.0-RC5.

With the new release of WordPress 2.5 its a good time to check in on your spam protection. Akismet is one of my personal favorites! Filter out spam and let all the nice comments and trackbacks come through. The most recent version of Akismet is 2.0. Take a look through your plugins page and see what version you currently have and if its less than 2.0 its time for a spam protection update.

Not using Akismet yet? You might be interested to see an experiment conducted by JustAddWater where they turned off their spam filter for a day. The results will amaze you!

With all the WordPress plugins and mods out there, sometimes Its hard to know which ones will play nicely together. Many of us have experienced plugin battles.  You install two great plugins and all at once your site is a complete mess.

Its a good idea to look around and see what plugins and mods other people are using so that you can get an idea of what plugins and mods will work well for you.
