SEO for images? Yes believe it or not you can even search engine optimize your pages images. Now as with all SEO methods this is not to be done without taste. Today we will look into SEO and images.

SEO images with ALT

Adding a bit of SEO to your sites images is pretty simple. Firstly name your images correctly. If your adding an image to your article about bird watching, then why not name the image bird-watching.

Example

Now moving into SEO we will work with the ALT tag which looks like this ALT=”text here”.

Using the same example that we have been using all along lets view an example of the image ALT tag.

<img src="http://www.foo.com/bird-watching.jpg" ALT="bird watching">

You can use a keyword inside of the ALT tag. Now the results from this will not be drastic, however I do recommend using it regardless.

Note

Now do NOT make the mistaken of thinking you can jam a long string of keywords or text into the ALT tags and create extreme results. That is just bad thinking and to search engines will look like spam.
