Of all the new features available in the WordPress 2.5 release, I must say one of my most favorites is the all new Plugin Management system. Comparing the old plugin management system to this new one would be like comparing a walkman to an mp3 player.

The WordPress dev team have done an excellent job with the all new Plugins Management system. The new plugin control center saves hours of time upgrading and updating WordPress plugins.

Remember when you had to constantly visit plugin sites to see if there were any updates available. You would then have to download the plugin package and then connect to your FTP to upload the package. Then you would have to unzip the package and chmod everything properly. Next you would return to your WordPress admin to activate the WordPress plugin and then to the plugin config page to re add your settings.

Phew! Even typing it all out makes me tired!

Now with the release of WordPress 2.5 you are alerted in your admin when a plugin is in need of updating, simply click the update link and thats that, done!

Brilliant addition ladies and gentlemen, do take advantage of it.
